As I mentioned in my last post, two days ago we took a HK Ferry from Kowloon to the Central Business District.  Upon boarding the ferry, Zara immediately started quizzing me what would happen if the ferry sank. This was out of character because she isn’t a worrier like her mom and she’s taken SF Ferries numerous times.  I reassured her that ferries like the one we are on don’t sink.  As she peppered me with more “but what if” questions, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of lifeboats on the ferry.  Three hours later HK suffered its worst ferry accident in over 40 years when two ferries collided and 37 people were killed.   I couldn’t share this news with Zara.  Sometimes innocence should be protected for awhile longer.
